Fresh off the unveiling of Eugen's "one of a kind" strategy game R.U.S.E., publisher Ubisoft has released a trailer that not only emphasizes the importance of subtlety and subterfuge in the game, but also gets me rather excited about the tables of the future.

Cool vid, but what was the ruse, exactly? He just sent some dummies in front of his über landing force which would have destroyed the other guy's defences anyway. Nice smug-face though.

I don't know if that's even subterfuge. Maybe it's because this was a WWII setting and I love CoH but seeings all those tanks, nicely lined up (on a beach no less)... bombing run was my first idea.

Well, consider the other guy's defenses. If he knew there was an uber landing force coming, would he not have bulked-up his defenses and altered their composition rather than confidently lining-up his tanks on the beachhead, setting themselves up to be bombed? That was the point of the ruse. the sad poker face furthered that line of thought and ofc the poker analogy itself, that the defender was confident in his "hand", false confidence only built-up thanks to the other player's ruse and confidence that would have lost him a sizable amount of chips in poker.

This is how envision RTS's will be played once the Microsoft surface becomes a commercial product.

The MS surface rocks so hard that I can't stop ejaculating. Get those tables out so we can buy them, MS!

You can build your own, it's not rocket science (layers of specific material + a webcam). There are many tutorials online.

Having apps that support it is the real question. There are some, but they're very specialized, like VJ stuff.

The table is the best part of the trailer.
