Sony: 50 Million PSPs Shipped

Sony today announced that it has shipped 50 million PSP units since the handheld's launch in December 2004.

The PSP's major competitor, the Nintendo DS, has recorded sales of 96.22 million worldwide as of last month. The two consoles debuted relatively close to one another, debuting within months across most territories.

In the United States, the PSP boasted lifetime sales of 14.30 million units as of January 1, 2009, while the Nintendo DS has sold 27.60 million.

      I got halfway through crisis core before I got bored of doing nothing but hit one button.

      I did really like the Metal Gear Acid games, though, so goes to show what kind of taste I have. Jeanne D'Arc was really good, too.

      I think the same thing about the DS. Sure there are TONS of games out for it, but 75% of them are shovelware. There are some good games, but I think there are better games for hte PSP.

      God of War was quite good. GTA was also good I think.
