Sega Announces Iron Man 2

6
In a terse announcement today, Sega revealed that it is preparing a multi-platform video game tie-in for the upcoming Iron Man 2 film.

Development of the game is underway at Sega Studios San Francisco, previously known as Secret Level, which worked with A2M on last year's critically-panned Iron Man video game.

Specific platforms and gameplay details were not provided, with Sega only noting that "players can expect an entirely new and enhanced gameplay experience" due to a refined engine.

The game is expected to arrive alongside the Robert Downey Jr.-starring film in 2010.

Have we not established time and time again that quality games cannot be released simultaneously with their movie tie-in? Why they waste such valuable IP's on these rushed games simply boggles the mind...

Yes, but they've had (and will have had) quite a while to work on it since the previous game, and since these are console sequels you can expect that they can re-use huge amounts of what they wrote for the first game. Maybe that time will have been enough to do something worth playing.

The direction they took the Riddick game in was fantastic. Instead of paralleling the movie they let the game complement it with backstory. That's how it should be done.

      Because people buy them anyway.

Correct. Releasing a shoddy game before its movie works. They're gonna keep doing it as long as a good number of people keep buying.

That's their marketing strategy right there.

Quality and Profitable are not inherently related.
