Eight new screenshots from BioWare's Star Wars: The Old Republic represent the studio's belated Christmas gift to the public. A release date for the anticipated PC MMO has not yet been set, nor have there been any solid details on the game's pricing.

I'm thinking this is going to be what Galaxies SHOULD have been.

Nah SWG was good as it was until they changed it. It was about the Star Wars galaxy and the people, 'jobs' in it, not the Jedi's and Sith.

Original SWG was good until that patch of death

No, SWG was what it should have been Pre-CU. It was a huge sandbox. Player crafted items ruled the day. You could live the life of a normal star wars person - Not the life of a Jedi which we have allready experianced countless times in both other games, and movies.

I don't know about that, I had more fun in SWG then I did in any other MMO except EQ

I dunno. Galaxies sold itself as making the player part of the galactic civil war. I expected to be slaughtering Stormtroopers and AT-STs, finding imperial spies, securing rebel strongholds, etc. This game is in the KOTOR time frame, and I don't believe there is an epic struggle for control of the galaxy going on.

        Except for the Jedi/Sith war.

It didn't feel like a big deal in either KOTOR.

I think because you're skirting the edges of the actual war when you're on your adventures. It's not like you're a front line fighter in either of those games.
