Castle Crashers Patch Still Coming, Says Developer

17
Castle Crashers developer The Behemoth has reassured fans that a patch for the Xbox Live Arcade title is on the way, hoping to allay concerns over the game's still-buggy Xbox Live co-op component. "We're working with Microsoft to get the title update out as quickly as we can," said a Behemoth spokesperson to Xbox360Fanboy. "Sadly, we can't get into details about the certification process, but we've resolved the game's issues with data loss and networking in addition to other bugs."

Added The Behemoth: "We can't really comment on the release yet as we're not allowed to talk about it because of Microsoft, but the update's release is definitely reaching the end of the process."

The disconnect killed it for me. They took way to long to fix what was otherwise a great game. I doubt I'll pick it up again...just too many other things to play.

Agreed, and I'm really bummed my buds finished the game. And by the time the patch is released the user base will probably be minuscule.

Same here. I got a good ways into the game, then had all my progress wiped out because I played 5 minutes of coop with a buddy, and havn't played since. They said they were going to patch it asap, but that was over 3 months ago and I dont see myself replaying all the stuff I lost again.

I just started playing this game in the last week for the first time. It's a good thing my brother didn't bring his HD to my place and instead just recovered his gamertag and started a new character because the data loss shit caught us by surprise.

We then had to remember to log every single player out and back in and double check our stats in the main menu.

If this game didn't have the problems I probably would have bought my own copy. As it is, not gonna happen. Even after the patch, I don't know.

agreed as well - and unfortunately it's the biggest downside to the patching process for consoles.

Online co-op was the reason I purchased the game - unfortunately my experience, like many other's, was riddled with disconnects and frustration.

There's no reason for me to go back to it.

What's the downside? The cert process? That's not MS's fault.

It's not MS's fault per say. It's the nature of the beast when dealing with a closed, restricted system. It's just a painfully slow and arduous process going through all the different hardware and software revisions. (worked at VMC for a couple months doing compatibility testing on the original xbox - sucked, worst job ever).

Yep. I can't believe there isn't a fix for such a critical problem 3 months later. It's useless online. Useless.

I'll think very hard before buying anything from Behemoth again, if ever.

I played through the whole game with opox online. Honestly I haven't had that many problems playing over xboxlive.

And yet many many others have problems, so really your case is the exception not the definition.
