Sony Responds to LittleBigPlanet Moderation Outcry, Provides Suggestions
Responding to the outcry that the moderation for user-made LittleBigPlanet (PS3) levels was getting out of hand, publisher Sony has issued a list of suggestions for creators to follow while it and developer Media Molecule improve the moderation policies:
- Ensure that the content you share with other users is suitable for all ages - everybody has access to your level if you publish it.
- Please respect other people's intellectual property rights. For example, don't use images, brands or logos that you're not entitled to use.
- If you come across any content that you feel the need to report, then please do it responsibly. Hoax reports will be considered inappropriate behaviour.
Along with the list, self-proclaimed "semi-official PlayStation blog" Three Speech was informed that over 84,000 levels have been uploaded for the physics-based platformer, with less than 0.5% of those drawing user complaints that required active moderation.

replyI don't understand what the fuck they were thinking creating a game that allowed user-submitted content, and then trying to prevent people from making anything but stuff that would be rated "E". It's bullshit, and it needs to be addressed, since I'd wager the bulk of the people playing the game are adults.
It would be much better to *label* levels with "mature" content, rather than deleting them.-

Parents would bitch about not knowing that this kind of stuff was in the game. Even though you read the marking "ONLINE CONTENT NOT RATED"

Nope, I think Sony is correct in restricting user-creted content for an E rated game to be appropriate for that rating.
Adults playing the game? Good for them (I'm one of them), but if you want your mature gaming then eject the disc and go play something else. It's not like there's a lack...-
Suggest to me where i can find this other LBP like game made for degenerates like me. In the mean time I will play LBP in the way I want to.

Except that virtually every game with *ANY* online component ever released specifically says with regards to the ESRB rating, that content may change during online play, or something to that effect.
