Champions Online Beta Sign Ups Open
Those seeking to role-play the virtual life of a super hero can apply for beta access on the game's official site, with the PC-only beta slated to begin in mid-November.
"This closed beta is an exciting step in the evolution of Champions Online," said Cryptic creative officer Jack Emmert. "All of us here in the Cryptic offices have been playing the game for a while now, and we're excited to invite others in to have as much fun with Champions Online as we've been having internally."
Champions Online is scheduled to launch on PC and "current gen consoles" in spring.

Oh snap, count me in on this!
Played CoH/CoV for over a year and loved them. Here's hoping they properly addressed the flaws in the original two.-

Have to agree with the playerbase being more friendly in general, I met quite a few online friends with CoH.
Hamidon raids were a blast. I was really sad to log on after a couple months of inactivity and learn they nerfed the rewards and no one runs them anymore. :(
Unbalanced is an understatement for PvP, but yes it was fun.-
ya. Stalkers were just so stupid. all they did was hit, run til invisible, then hit again. guaranteeing a critical everytime. so annoying. and the NRG punches were ridiculous.
but one of my major gripes was with the Stone Controllers pet. Stoney was soooooooooo effing stupid. he was so bad he was useless. i havent played the game in ages....did they implement any kind of user control over pets?-
I don't think so. I had a 50 earth/bubble controller and yes, that dumb poo was a freaking retard.
Like you said, the scrappers were insanely overpowered shortly after they released the arenas (didn't play for too long afterwords to see if they patched classes) - but we had a pretty solid 3's team of controllers that made us damn near invincible.
