NVidia & 3dfx Agree on API?

Few press releases for you to look at of interest, the folks at 3dfx have partnered up with Intrinsic Graphics in hopes of ending the 'API Wars' that have been going on for so long. Here is a bit from the 3dfx press release since it's the only one somewhat interesting:

Whats the zinger? NVidia has agreed to use the same API! Yeah thats great, but is it fast? Other press releases for you guys: Real.com has partnered up with Monolith to work on the /games/ section using LithTech technology. Here's the PR, and to round things out, AMD has announced the release of Win2K and Linux PCnet ethernet drivers
