Metal Gear Online Gets New Expansion

3
Metal Gear Online (PS3), the multiplayer action title launched alongside Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots from Kojima Productions, is set to get its second downloadable expansion in the near future.

The "Meme Expansion," as detailed by Japanese gaming mag Weekly Famitsu, offers three new maps: Silo Sunset, with a resemblance to the Silo stage from Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (PSP); Forest Firefight, a camouflage-heavy mission set in mountain forests; and Winter Warehouse, a snow-covered wonderland of death.

Kojima Productions' Metal Gear Online, soon to have 100% more Meme

Two new playable characters, Liquid Ocelot and Mei Ling, will be thrown into the mix as well.

No release dates or prices were mentioned by Famitsu, but the expansion will be playable at next week's Tokyo Game Show.

I played it for a few weeks, it's entertaining at first but not very deep.

Thought it was very fun for a long while, but slowly the incredibly horrible lag turned me off completely. You will kill a guy and like 5 seconds later you will die from a headshot (from the guy that you killed). Other examples are when you see someone roll thru a window...the disappear and then all the sudden warp from their original spot they rolled from to like 5 feet away. Usually you are dead before you even know where they went. The most obvious way you can see this happen is if you hit someone with a grenade. They go flying in the air and land somewhere...then they will warp to a different location while still on the ground from being hit by the nade. It's a shame cuz I thought the gameplay was really fun and unique. Loved tranqing enemies...stealing their weapons...then finishing them off with a headshot.

umm but I see they are putting Liquid Ocelot playable. That may be worth it :p. Too bad almost no servers enable the singleplayer characters. Rarely see any games enable Meryl or Johnny.

I really like the online play. I don't play it all the time but when I do I have some good fun.
Would never pay for any expansions though.
