Demigod Screenshots Get Angry, Smash Things

Gas Powered Games' strategy RPG Demigod (PC) has gained five new screenshots. Here, the player-controlled giant hero can be seen taking on hordes of enemies just like Defense of the Ancients, the Warcraft III modification said to inspire the game.

Now in beta testing for paying pre-order customers, Demigod is set to land in February 2009.

Is good.

Beta warned "This build is not supposed to be fun. If you find it fun, there is something seriously wrong with you"

It's fun, but definitely needs some fleshing out.

    The TB is my favorite, with the Rook coming in a close second.
    
    I either set things on fire, or smash them to bits.

    Is the gameplay like Warcraft 3? Or is it turn base?

  Anyway, I can't fucking wait for this game, I'm almost as crazy about this as I am with Dawn of War 2.

  Yep theres plenty of gameplay in the beta, I'd keep an eye out when they open for the beta again.

  Any responses by those in this post saying the game is fun to comments that it's pretty simple gameplay and lacks any long-term appeal or depth? I want to like this game but I'm fairly concerned by those kinds of remarks. Any info would be helpful. :)

      Similar to wc3. Not exactly the same though. If you have wc3 snag a copy of the DOTA map and you'll get a good idea how it plays.This seems much slower all around than dota though. I liked the hunting of other heroes in DOTA a lot and everyone in this game so far feels slow. I hope that's just because of beta.

    Well, right now it's really early beta stages, but it will soon show us if it will be great, or mediocre.
    
    Hasn't been much updated yet, but soon I hope.
    
    It could be awesome, it really could.
    
    Depth, longevity, all possible so far.

  Hoe does compare to DOTA? Is it very similar, will DOTA fans be able to adopt this easily?

    I'm pretty sure DotA fans will stick with DotA.
