Publisher Electronic Arts has delivered a new batch of screenshots from EALA's alternate history RTS Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3.

Planned for both standard and limited edition retail configurations, Red Alert 3 is slated to arrive on PC and Xbox 360 this October. The PlayStation 3 version was placed on indefinite hold earlier this summer.

Why was there a need for mechs or spider-walker... things? I really preferred the older RA1-2's variations on real technology. Yes, Yuri's revenge got a bit wacky, but that's not a justification for going even farther in that direction.

Walkers and mechs have an awesome power - the power to make you say "Oh sweet mother of mercy!" or similar exclamation when they first appear. Their rareness gives them a certain coolness. If they are all over the place, well, I don't know, they just don't feel as fun.

I got them impression they were fairly common units given I've seen them in half of the screens released so far.

C&C has always been about building 500 of the most powerful unit. I wouldn't expect to see a shortage of any unit type.

without that its the same exact game with new graphics. the least they can do is change up the units

Because they are the japanese, and they play off of the tech/manga angle and it works. I am playing the beta right now, and they are a tough team that fits in quite well.
