As for the the videogame news around these parts for today:

Lastly, it seems that Hollywood cant keep a lid on upcoming TV shows as a bunch of them

are leaking on to the net before the TV season even starts.

    figured i'd get er'd

    Zune People, few questions:

I'm buying a 1st gen 30gig zune from an awesome friend (and fellow shacker) and I have a few questions.

    - What are my risks when I import my music collection? Ie will it delete anything. I read that it won't play some stuff (bought from napster, itunes ect) but I don't have to worry about that (amazon.com ftw)

    - How do videos work. Do I have to convert it to the right format/size with a seperate program, or will the zune marketplace software automatically do it?

I'm only asking about the deleting stuff cause I had trouble with wmp syncing with my current mp3 player without my permission. Otherwise I expect to be happy since I'm going fron 3gb to 30gb and even with my whole collection I'll have 10gigs for video.

i can't say anything about the video, but it won't mess with your music. at least mine didn't. you'll prolly have to set up the software so it knows where your collection is tho.

I believe 1st-gen Zunes only support WMV video (2nd gen for H.264/etc.), so you may have to transcode those.

from what I found, for the Zune 30, with the 2.0 update: Additional native video codecs for h.264 and MPEG-4 -- users no longer need transcode those file types to WMV.

no it wont delete anything. make sure you are using the latest firmware/software...it rules (gapless playback, smart playlists, decent tagging system, etc). Current ver is 2.5

the zune app will auto convert video files.

you are right on some drm file types; tunebite for your conversion needs.
