Diablo 3 Announcement and Media Recap

In case you somehow missed it, Blizzard officially announced Diablo 3 over the weekend. Per Blizzard tradition, no release date was suggested, but we do know that the action-RPG will eventually hit PC and Mac.

A torrent of media and details accompanied the announcement, including word on the story, giant evil trees, and classes. Below are links to everything we have thus far:

This announcement proved for a fun weekend. I felt like a kid at Christmas Saturday morning when I woke up and jumped on the computer, hoping to see that my favorite PC series would receive a much-anticipated next installment.

That, coupled with playing lots of D2 and spending just as much time in the D3 media/announcement comments, reading every bit of Diablo 3 text on Blizzard.com, and watching the teaser and gameplay videos multiple times each, was a lot of fun.

  Yeah, I waited all night for the announcement too. I haven't stayed up that late playing a game, much less waiting for a game announcement in a long time.

      There are lots of other games to play, books to read (and in my case, write), movies to see, and life to live in the meantime. Blizzard can take all the time they want. Barring some unforeseen tragedy, I'll be around to play Diablo 3 when it's inevitably released. Hell, I'm already planning to call off of work (wherever I'm working at the time) to play D3 for 2-3 days straight when it does release! :)

  Just got back from vacation, after leaving just when D3 was officially announced.
  
  I have to say from the screens and videos I have seen I am in complete heaven. I am glad to see the Witch Doctor which I am sure will replace my beloved Necromancer such good times. Man does it ever look nice holy freeking monkey ball sacks.
  
  I am sure I will sack any MMO I am playing and devote allot of time to this jewel.
  
  Only question I have is what are the other classes and when can I buy it.

  Me as well David. I can't belive how polished this section of the game looks already. I'm so pumped to play this and I also was so excited to see the news saturday morning. I can't wait for more info!

  I agree... Diablo2 was my first serious foray into this series, so really, I haven't felt like this since q3test. Nice to be excited about something again.

      yeah unfortunetly were are going to have to wait forever............ for this dam game to actually come out because blizzard is gay i think 3 years working on a game is plenty jsut finish already dam..
