New Sonic Unleashed Trailer Darts and Dashes

Sega has sent along a new trailer of Sonic Team's Sonic Unleashed (PS2, PS3, Wii, 360), offering a glimpse at the game's mix of 2D gameplay with speedy 3D graphics.

Not having played any Sonic game before put aside.
I wonder if there is any solid gameplay to be found in this one?

  I can't speak for the last 64K iterations, but the first two were all about timing and choosing directions. Some paths were easier, some were harder. Some quicker, some longer. And if you messed up your timing, you'd end up loosing a bunch of rings. So, mostly action twitch gameplay with a some decision making involved. Oh, and some of the levels were a bit of a maze that you had to figure out how to get to the end. But like I said, this is based on the first couple of games, and this reminds me of that.
