So it's Friday, how great is that? First up, I would like to point out Nick's latest Replay Couch. It's a magical place where the video-based fruit of the Internet is collected, sorted and beautifully displayed for your consumption. Plus, stuff blows up! In other news, PS3/360 Guitar Hero 3 owners should be sure to grab these free Dropkick Murphy songs, as they probably won't be available forever. So, what are you guys playing this weekend ?

    The longetivity of CoD4 is pretty amazing. Anyone bet that this Christmas we'll see a disgusting glut of FPS w/ persistent unlocking stats?

      It's already begun. BF2, BF2142, CoD4.
      It seems to be a decent impetus for playtime. It is annoying, but the nice thing about CoD4 was that the initial weapons are decent enough that you don't need to worry about levelling up the same way.

      I'm already of getting bored of it. The guns are like I've unlocked but to get XP to advance I've got to use other suckier stuff :(

      CoD4 multi is just as much fun to me as when I first started playing it. It helps that there are pretty much always shackers online to party up with. I just can't wait for the new maps.

    I stopped playing COD4 for awhile but played a round earlier in the week and now can't stop. Such a good game. Hell I tried to sit down last night to beat campaign and ended up playing multi for a fewh ours.

      If you haven't beat the campaign, you really need to play through it. Such a fantastic single player game. It's not too long either. Felt like the perfect length to me. Other games I've had to force myself to finish, but not this one. It was great from start to finish.

        I think I've only put about 2 hours into it, I agree it's wonderful. I just can't stop playing the multi long enough to beat it.

    How did that happen, did you throw it through the room in frustration? I don't like those QTEs, but RE4 doesn't have that many, at least as far as I remember...,

      Well, I think QTEs were more the last straw than the absolute cause, it wasn't a new gamepad. It broke just after the cage fight with the blind dude in the castle, not a particularly QTE-intensive section but I guess all the twisting and turning did it.

      I've been playing as Olimar lately... for some reason the playstyle seems to really suit me.
      
      I also switched from my elitist OMG Corded gamecube controller!!!!! position to wiimote+nunchuck... and strangely, I actually like it. It's more responsive than the corded controller, and I have absolutely no idea why.

        I have played through the first "station" to the point that you leave. I lost intrest and havnt played the game in such a long time that I will have to start over because I forgot WTF was going on and am lost on the story.

    I had a hard time getting into it as well. I ended up beating it anyway in about 11 hours sticking with the main story line.

  Tiger Woods 08. . .man, I'm so disappointed with that game thus far. I mean, I think the game play and all is fine, more challenging etc, but fuck, on my 360 it looks like I'm playing it on the xbox. The graphics are absolutely atrocious. What the fuck happened >:(

      you serious? I havent checked the in-game options, but the characters looked pixelated to hell in comparison to like GoW, Halo 3, CoD 4 etc.

        That said, everything is "smooth" but certainly not up to the GoW/Halo 3 quality, but those are EXCEPTIONAL. I'd say TW08 is "good".

    Dead Rising is good. I would suggest just messing around for a couple hours first to go up some levels. That way you unlock some moves. Then start over with the same character and do the story.

      A good way to do that is take a few pics of the zombies through the gates before they come in, save the couple on the roof (take a pic of them hugging) and escort them back, save and quit. do that a few times to get your level up

  My goal is to get a bit further in Metroid Prime 3, and hopefully beat Skate. I also just started an Assassins Creed game, and I'm having a lot of fun so far.

        Dunno what's to spill except it looks, feels and plays like ass. I was so dissapointed when i saw it. Even moreso when i saw it in action. Not an AAA title. Not even remotely close.

  I believe the woman and I will continue wading through Smash Bros. Brawl's SSE mode. Very tedious so far. Still, she's into the game and enjoys the Brawl mode against proficient AIs. We're having good times with it.

    Ah I did recently too - wanting to pimp the settings on my new rig and maybe check out the expansion. I couldn't get past the sillyputty faces of the characters - sad that such a gorgeous game a couple of years ago loses so much glimmer.

      I just installed a mod to improve facial textures and another one that redid every NPC face in the game. It's nice. I tried to download Qarl's Texture Pack 3 last night, too, but my brother was torrenting like crazy so I could only get 70kb/s.

  Quake 2 with Thief! We'll be playing via direct TCP w/ one of us hosting for some Nightmare CO-OP!} We may even put in some 1 on 1 afterwards. I'm hoping there is still a Tournament Mod or GXMod server running somewhere so there's no ping advantage one way or the other, but regardless, it should be lots of fun!

  My bro is coming over tomorrow so the Rock Band will be rocked out on. I think I'm about to do the last part of Episode 2 driving my car around with magnusson devices and blowing up striders?, and maybe some more Patapon. You know, the second fucking mission in the game. >:(
