Morning Discussion
Howdy Shackers, hows your weekend looking? Fabulous? Fantastic. The ever intrepid Aaron brings hands on experience to the long awaited Super Smash Brothers Brawl, and it sounds like I'm going to buy it. Because I was going to anyway, but I went from being sure, to double sure. Also, Nick brings you another installation of the Replay Couch, with it's plethora of video that covers a wide array of games and genres so give it a look.
And given the day, I should ask what are you guys playing this weekend? Also, Faylor. :(

So what are you lads and lasses playing this weekend?

They did, on the Xbox, which is the one I'm playing. I can't believe how much better it controls with the Gamepad.
Again, thanks to ThomW who sent me the game for free:

I'm on the third case, seems good to me. Theres even a nod to the original games with the "step ladder" arguement. :D One thing I didn't like about the second case -
Having to check the trash twice. What the fuck was that about? Thats a big adventure gaming no no. I never searching for hours only to realize I was supposed to check a spot again after recieving an important item already.

After weeks of mercilessly beating peons (lol booterang) - I got the Onyx Nether Drake Mount last night.
http://www.wowwiki.com/Netherdrake fucking sweeeeeeeet.-
Grats. That is a sexy dragon.
I quit my shiny orc (http://home.wanadoo.nl/neessen/KAMIIORC.jpg) early october last year. He had sexy mounts too. Resubbed (damn you ressurection scroll) + rerolled (Gnome Warlock named Fgt) two weeks ago and again Blizzard managed to fuck me up (lvl 40 in 2 weeks yay). GodDAMNit. -

The starting guy (Mordenai) is walking around in Shadowmoon Valley in the south-eastern area. He gives you the starting quest and it ends up being about 7 or 8 very easy quests (first 7 quests no groups, just single stuff). Then for the final quest, you'll need to get 3 or 4 ppl and put the beatdown on some dude in that adjacent castle in lower Shadowmoon Valley. Completing these few quests will get you from hated to neutral with the Netherwing Faction.
Then you fly out to that adjacent island to the south and go nuts. They give you about 6 or 7 daily quests. All pay 12 gold and give 250, 350 and some 500 rep. It's actually kinda fun but got to be a grind toward the end getting to exalted.

The whole thing, from Mordenai to the badass Nether Drake took me about 3 weeks playing a few hours each night.

haha np. I didn't really think it was bad. You make a 120 gold a day plus about 3,500 rep. I skin those Flayers in the mines and make a shitload of cash on the auction house from their leather too. But yeah, I'm done with that area for a while. Mainly because my pc can't take the graphics. The crystals and shit just wig out my system something fierce. Flying around looking for 20 peons who are fucking off at work, makes my box cry.

I'm thinking about picking up Shiren the Wanderer, which is a DS rogue-like. Here's the 1up review, which is pretty positive: http://www.1up.com/do/reviewPage?cId=3166800&p=39
I love roguelikes, and I'll probably enjoy this one as long as it isn't too crazy.

Probably some more of Episode II (I'm hopefully soon to be out of this godawful mine with all the damn antlions) and a generous helping of ET:QW online. Do I have to play on ranked servers in order to increase stats and get unlockables? How does that whole thing work when compared to playing on the shack servers?

I bought No More Heroes last night. I've never played a game where you can actually fill the entire room you're in with spraying blood. Holy shit. So there will be much more of that this weekend.
On Saturday, I'm going over to my friends house where a bunch of people will all play non-traditional board games, like Munchkin Bites. -

save often if you can. my gf played it for about an hour with no crashes then a couple hours after i played it for 30 minutes and it froze during a fight. i'm done with this game till it's fixed because with you only being able to save at a save point, i'm going to lose a lot of progress when it keeps crashing

Resident Evil 4 as part of my scary game acclimatisation. I just began chapter 2 and am having a blast. The atmosphere is really enjoyable and any scares are mild but things are creepy enough to keep me on edge. Great fun. Though I have not played with a gamepad since Mario Kart 64 so I am still wrestling with it all a bit.
