LittleBigPlanet Screens Sell PS3s

11
Other than the just-dated Metal Gear Solid 4, it's hard to imagine a game selling more PlayStation 3 consoles ahead of its release than Media Molecule's ambitious cooperative platformer LittleBigPlanet.

These particular images form a sort of sea-going pirate narrative, so make sure to view them in their proper order for maximum swashbuckling enjoyment. Expect LittleBigPlanet to hit this fall exclusively on the PlayStation 3, with a possible beta arriving in late spring.

This is the only game on the PS3 that has actually made me feel like I need to get one. It does look amazing.

While I would buy this if I had a PS3, I'm worried its novelty may wear off fairly quickly (how quickly depends on how much good things the community creates and for how long) so I'm not buying a PS3 just for this. Although, with MGS4, FF13 and most importantly White Knight Chronicles possibly making it out this year, it's starting to look quite attractive.

Yeah, thats the reason Im still not going to buy a PS3. It may be something that is fun for all of 10 minutes, most likely it will be.

I really don't think it's going to be one of those cheap throw-away games. Every time I see this thing in action it literally makes me laugh out loud. Creating levels looks like fun, and the Youtube-style interface they're developing seems absolutely perfect.

I'm pretty optimistic. I mean, sure, it's just another platformer at the core of it, but the online cooperative element will make it something special I think.

Watch the videos! Seriously, the single long level trailer they showed just looks so creative and laden with charm.

I agree that it looks cool but, unless I'm just not getting it, it also looks like a game which could be easily made for any platform, especially PC, and probably will. It looks like a PopCap game with a good 3D engine.

I'll wait to see the gameplay first. Tired of buying pretty games that play like crap. Like dating a model with a shitty personality.
