Morning Discussion

It looks like EA released a pretty massive amount of info yesterday, so you might want to avail yourself of a good look at those. Given how much direction that they place upon the industry, like or dislike them, it's worth being informed. I for one am curious to see the innovation promised to stale sports series.

Saw a bit of action in last night's ET:QW game, good to see some solid players for that. I for one found my zen place with shotgun, if you haven't given that game a shot yet with good players then perhaps there's a Shackbattle in your future? Submissions are closed for the Savage 2 contest, and I should have to results today or tomorrow.

Don't you ever use the Stop button on a page that is loading really slowly but already has everything you want on it?

How would that negate having stop and reload on the same button? If the page is still loading it's a stop button, otherwise it's a refresh button. Sounds reasonable to me.

I thought he was suggesting replacing both buttons with just a reload button. I see what he means, now.

There are usability problems with doing this. First there's the "race" issue where you are about to click Stop, but then the page finishes loading, so you accidentally click Refresh instead because the button has changed on you. Second, you will have people wondering where one or the other button is and getting confused.

That's a good point, IMO. They could still do it if they made the button do nothing for a second or two between changing functions, so if you did click Stop just as the page finished loading then it wouldn't do anything.

How do I make the tabs work the same as older FF (replace the current tabs and not open a whole bunch of new ones)?

      Ok, thanks guys.
I don't understand why its not an option.
If I'm surfing without my hands on the keyboard I don't want to have to open a menu to go back home. They should let you add it to the address bar if you want.
Unless I'm missing something, which is a distinct possibility.

Okay, this shit is coming together on OSX finally. Good. Safari is fast but so fucking slim on features.

Is anyone seeing wierd things happening with the comments since they updated to Beta 3? Nested comments only fit the comment not the width of the page.

Yeah, and the anchors seem broken too, clicking on a post scrolls the browser so the post is at the bottom of the page.

Is this stable enough to use as my main browser now? I love previewing stuff but I actually need my browser to work. Also does Firebug support it?
