Just Cause 2 Officially Announced for PC, PS3, 360; First Screenshots Unveiled

Eidos Interactive has formally announced Just Cause 2, the second entry in the Avalanche Studios-developed open-island action adventure series, and issued the first screenshots of the title.

Due out on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 later this year, the game is said to feature an improved stunt system, new vehicles, and 1000 square kilometers to explore. Though coverage for the console editions began appearing a few weeks ago, the PC version was previously unconfirmed.

"Remember everything you loved about Just Cause, then take it to the next level: vehicles, stunts, weapons, freedom, grappling hook, action, everything," said brand manager Alex Price. "The game world is even more incredible in Just Cause 2 and Rico has done a bit of growing up, so expect quite a few new surprises up his sleeves."

Chris Faylor was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.

I disliked it on PC as well, though I heard and read from numerous sources that the console versions are much more enjoyable due to a few gameplay mechanics. Whether or not it's true or not, I'm uncertain, I've been meaning to rent the 360 version of this for awhile.

The 360 version actually is superior to the PC version in graphics as well, I think the dev's got a little lazy on the PC version b/c the shadows and lighting on 360 look much better.

I didn't mind the controls but still the hole game itself seemed to lack any sort of interest to make me keep on playing it.
