          i remember when we upgraded our cyrix 6x86 toaster oven to a P233 MMX and a voodoo card. pants were crapped.

              The best thing Cyrix ever did was to sue the makers of the movie Eraser. The original name of the "Cyrez" corporation in the movie was "Cyrex" and so Cyrix sued them. Only they did it after all the scenes were done and in the can so the producers had to spend millions digitally changing the name in signs and dialogue.

        My Dad had a Matrox Millennium in his PC and I remember running Quake in 640x480 on his machine and being totally blown away by how much more awesome it looked. It was absolutely incredible - until I saw vQuake running on a Rendition Verite.
