In the explosive, acidic war of words between notorious game designer John Romero and former business partner and current Gamecock head Mike Wilson, Romero has calmed down a bit and called for a truce on his blog--the site of the original post that launched the current flareup.

"I think we're both mature enough to end this flame war," writes Romero, but not before taking a final jab at Wilson. Referring to Wilson's "nice long letter to recount his version of events," Romero called the move "manipulation at its saddest" and likened it to "a crotch shot of Britney in Hollywood's media circus."

Given the almost shockingly uninhibited tone of Wilson's letter, it's not too surprising that Romero snuck that in just before calling for an armistice--but nor would it be surprising for Wilson to try and grab the last word.

"I just wanna see the cool games that gamecock is gonna release," finishes Romero.
