Morning Discussion

Actual physical proof of the Duke? It had to turn up eventually, but I'll still have to pinch myself when it's shown. And the PS3 coming through with some of it's more unique and long promised features in the form of playing PS1 games remotely over the PSP is pretty great too.

Keep watching the frontpage, as later today the holiday contest should go up. I give a forecast of most likely thinking it's a great idea with an outside chance of considering it ridiculous. Which is really how it should be, no?

When was the last time you guys played Duke Nukem 3D? As fond as my memories of that game are, it must have been 10 years since I last played it.

Marathon could have rooms above or in the same space as other rooms. Imagine a figure of eight map. In most engines, the two parts that cross would need to be separate, with one above the other. In Marathon they could exist in the same space.

Not for a long time. Weird though that I still have flashbacks to very specific (but random) parts of different maps in that game. Oh my god the Build engine ruled.

A machine I was working on in 2001 (an old NEC running windows 95) had the demo/shareware installed, and I played through it in one sitting. Good times.

By close Scott Miller say 6 to 12 months. So one would assume we will see it in 08.
