You know, in my experience there are enough online shenanigans without developers encouraging more. For that matter, there are enough peripheral compatibility shenanigans without Vivactard encouraging more. And hell, there are enough Hollywood shenanigans without Uwe Boll encouraging more. I've been gearing up one of my apps at work. Got rid of all the deprecations, implemented will_paginate, and completely refactored to RESTful routes (not really a 2.0 thing, just to learn it). I've also added a bunch of functional tests which I didn't have before.
I think by Friday, I'll be ready to switch over to 2.0, and start using all the cool new stuff. I'm pretty excited about the simply_helpful stuff being merged into core. I also love the new fixtures and migrations. Also, I love the new view naming conventions of action.format.renderer.
Have you noticed any speed improvements from the new query caching? What features do you like so far?
