Morning Discussion

So how is everyone doing today? Hopefully if you're an EVE player, you haven't quite jumped into their big uber-update as it's seemingly possessed by ghosts of Sierra Utilities past. Also, you guys should check this Ninja Reflex preview, if nothing else to see if the developers of BMX XXX can redeem themselves.

Remember when uninstalling Myth 2 would remove your Program Files folder? Good times

Yep, only if you installed it to anything other than the default folder. I remember being at NJ Quake when that news came out and a couple kids fucked their machines up lol.

I almost posted the PA comic for it, but figured people would split hairs over the differences and I'd want to stab myself

"Please do not reboot your computer until you have read this"

lol I wonder how many people will get completely owned because Windows Update reboots them in the middle of the night?

I doubt many considering that to be affected they had to patch in the 2 hour period that the evil patch was live, which was already middle of the night for almost everyone

How does code like this even get added in the first place. What dumbass thought it would be clever to write that?

as others have said, it looks like they had their own Boot.ini and there was a mistaken \ inserted in the latest version of the installer

in every patch CCP breaks as much stuff as they add. i guess since they added a new graphics engine they had to outdo themselves this time

When Halflife first came out, uninstalling the game would remove the root directory that it was installed in (if I remember correctly).
