Evening Reading

Well my new DirecTV mpeg4 dvr box showed up today and they forgot to package in the adapters that actually decode the mpeg4 stuff. Excellent start. I want my TiVo :(

Lastly, some DRM fun for you this evening. Apparently if you bought MLB videos last year they now no longer work. Also MLB is not offering refunds. Way to go guys.

      Oh, ok.

I had to leave the 24 man Dallas because some chatty friend of mine called me up. But I'm good now.

Also, wish me luck... I'm applying for a programming position where I could be making at least $15,000 more than what I'm making now!! :D

It's a fulltime position in Oklahoma City. Here's the detail according to this recruiter that wants to interview with them:

My client is an insurance processing firm, and they are seeking qualified applicants for a junior-midlevel programmer position for their development team. This person would be responsible for maintaining existing applications as well as developing new ones, so experience with TLC application development is preferred.

      * A qualified candidate will have 2+ years programming experience with C#.NET using MS SQL server as the backend DB, as well as experience with C#, ASP.NET, and web development experience. Working knowledge in a data warehouse environment is a plus.

Is your cap lock key down?

Did you upgrade your steam/TF2 and the server is on the old version?

          What?

I upgraded TF2. I put in password, the one that worked yesterday, and it says "disconnected".

No, but it's probably because the server's don't today's update.

if it's the update it will say 'your version of the protocol differs from the servers'

Ah, it does say that! It's in grey writing that can barely be read.

Yeah, valve needs to fix it so that error messages are easier to read.

Is that what is going on? I just logged into steam and it updated TF2. The servers don't have the latest version so only the people who have been logged into steam for the last few hours can get in?

sure update that shit and i will which brings up why the hell the server browser doesn't have version checking as a filter?

Early morning hours when no one can play = time to release.
Early evening hours when everyone wants to play = time to patch.
        Oh, Valve.
