Morning Discussion
Friday here once again, quite thankfully enough. So did you see the Jam Sessions contest? It's pretty awesome as far as these things usually go. So what are you playing this weekend? I think I'm playing Go To Conferences a bit much, but that's an okay game sometimes too. Enjoy!

hrmm, didn't see this on the front page

Valve bricking orange boxes-
I am still pissed about having bought Orange Box from Steam. It's permanently censored (TF2 and Ep2) since Valve registered a heavily censored version they created for all buyers with a german IP. If I had bought the game on CD from a shop around and validated myself as 18+, I could have gotten the uncensored version.

also its not smart to play around with the tf2 files out of fear of the account getting banned for cheating.
have the same problem, wanted to buy it over steam but the ip issue led me to buy the retail. unfortunately none of the shops i went to had the fucking uk version and the two onlineshops i asked told me that they were sold out and it would take a week. so yeah, instead of playing the beta early or getting an uncensored version i ended up with a censored retail box two weeks+ later than half of the shack.
what is more hilarious is that neither hl2 or episode one which are in the same dvd are censored which means that the game is usk 18+.

TLDR: Fuck EA, not Valve.

The foreign retailers are offering clients a refund for the bricking, Valve does have not only a somewhat legitimate reason but they also offer an alternate solution to getting their games, plus their pricing structure is more than reasonable with the aussie $ how it is.
