Morning Discussion

Howdy y'all. So I haven't really played Warhawk, but this story about adding Arbiters seems pretty interesting. Here you have a mass market console game, with online super-users to smooth out the user experience. Now this is old hat for PC software, from MUDs to World of Warcraft, but to see transition over to the console world is interesting and I wonder if it might be the start of reaction to stuff like this.

    iPod users:

If you wished that your iPod would sort albums by year (instead of alphabetically) and also that it wouldn't mix together compilation and proper albums when you browse by artist, then I have written a tool for you:

    http://www.pretentiousname.com/ipodyearsort/

It only works with the Winodws version of iTunes (because it uses the iTunes COM SDK) but the page explains how it works and I think it'd be very easy for someone to write a AppleScript equivalent.

    Hope somebody finds this useful!

Awesome, thanks. I wrote a util to do this in C# and lost the damn source code, this just saved me a few hours of rewriting.

Also, I've noticed that, while the Sort Album field is ignored by the iPod when they display a list of an artist's albums, when you go to the artist in the Artists menu and just hit "play", the albums do play in Sort Album order. This was quite the discovery for me... now I can listen to Led Zeppelin in order.

If you click "Album" a couple times it turns into "Album by Year" and "Album by Artist". Doesn't this already do what your program does?
