Morning Discussion

Why hello there! The results of the haiku contest are in, they should likely bring a smile to your face. There's also a Shackcast to greet you this morning, eloquently articulating the gaming news for your listening pleasure. So what will you be playing this weekend? I'm still committed to Disgaea 2's item worlds but regret how lonely I've left the Master Chief. Maybe something can be done about that tonight.

I want a new DS game. Bearing in mind that I don't like other Zelda games, is there any chance I'd enjoy this? Is it something really different?

It depends what it is about Zelda games you don't like, but my instinct would be no

What do you dislike about Zelda games? The puzzles, dungeons, and wayfaring? Because those are all the same. Or is it more like collection quests, or frustrating money bag upgrades? Because simple things like that are really nicely done and improved.

Pretty much everything, so I guess I'll steer clear and get the new Phoenix Wright instead.

If you want something "really different", try Tingle's Rupee Adventure...it's reeeeeally different

as much as I loathe the Wii, I love Zelda games. I havent heard overwhelming praise about it, but I havent played it yet either.

Seriously? Loathe? I can understand not liking a game system for some reason (for example, I don't about the PS3 because there just haven't been any games out for it that I've thought I must have), but unless you're Silent Wolf and are on your 139983873th Xbox, how can you actually work up loathing for an object?

for the few who beat it already, when your on your way to find the third metal, do you have to return to the ocean king temple. Last item i got was the hammer I played half-life episode 2 and it's been over a week since i played. I'm pretty sure i have to but i don't want to waste time if i don't

i saw someone mention using the mic in this in one of the threads. can anyone tell me if that is vital to the game? (mine seems to be broke/working poorly)

there's one or two puzzles that require it, for example the DS usual blow into the mic or yell something

well if it's working poorly it should still be ok to use. you don't really need to sound clear its just blowing on it

They just make you make sounds/blow on it. So just blow hard and it completes it all easily. ;)
