Conan, The Simpsons Game Demos On Xbox Live Marketplace

11

Xbox 360 owners looking for something new to play can now grab two new demos from the Xbox Live Marketplace. Released for PlayStation 3's PlayStation store last week, Xbox 360 gamers can now also sample EA's upcoming The Simpsons Game (PS2, PS3, PSP, X360, Wii, NDS). Coming in at 442mb, the demo allows you to play as Homer and Bart fending off miniature Krusty dolls. Also available is a demo for Conan (PS3, X360), the action adventure game from Nihilistic Software not to be confused with Funcom's Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. The 483mb demo includes some 15 minutes of gameplay. PlayStation 3 owners will receive this demo later this week.

wow really? What was in the demo? I loved the 360 demo. It had lots of simpsons humour and reminded me of the old simpsons arcade game. The graphics are beautiful too. I really liked that it wasn't afraid to poke fun at not only itself but other games and movie tie in games too!

The damn camera and stupid control scheme pissed me off. There was also no way to have the characters work together. My first plan of attack was to have Bart sit atop a building and then have home lure him to Bart to do the whole enemy weakness thing. Well that didn't work because there's no "stay" command or anything like that so Bard would always leave his post and I'm back at square one. The whole level consisted of waiting near a helium tank, air vent, or tall building until lard ass got close enough.

I enjoyed the simpsons demo on my ps3. You play as homer or bart, bart seemed more useful in this level where you must take down Lard Lad, the 2 story tall doughnut mascot.

The camera can become rather wonky at times when rubbing against a wall of any sort. Other than that it is a fun game to sit back and have some fun to. Although I was surprised the target time for the level was 4 minutes when I spent an entire 44 minutes just running around. I guess that's there for the time-attack folks.

I think I spent 30 minutes just trying to figure out what to do, and then another 18 minutes battling the controls to kill that damn Lard Lad.

the controls are a lot better when you invert the y axis for the camera, imo.

Both are pretty short. The Simpsons game seemed to have potential for fun-ness, while Conan seemed ho-hum to me.

Conan is so-so, I've reviewed it (it's in Swedish though) and scored it a five/ten. Contains some fun moments, lots of blood and dismemberment, but it's also a poor man's God of War in every sense. Very much a cheap, copy that gets boring in the long run. And quite repetetive.

I don't mind a brainless jump-fight-kick game every once and a while. guess I'll wait for a bargain bin purchase then

      I have.

Both of these games are instant purchases: (was quite impressed with both games, very high quality)

      1.The Simpsons
Have played it on both the ps3 and 360 not sure which version Iw ill get (ps3 is quieter (dvd drive) so that will probaly be the deciding factor)
      - awesome power ups
      - nice throw backs to the tv show and games and pop culture
      - you really have to plan out you gameplay to achive stuff
      - pimp graphics
      - great sound
      - art direction and animation top notch

      2. Conan
Very nice indeed, feels allot like God of war, Ninja G and Heavenly sword but right off the bat seems much tighter quite closer to God of War which is a good thing.
      - almost perfect camera for a third person game, good work
      - graphics real nice
      - nice sound, the voice of Conan is aweomse if you leave Arni stand he says this awesome thing some thing like "Come on..." its soo cool for some reason
      - gameplay real tight
swords of enemies can be picked up, nice power ups
      -killer blood
