The abnormally large-headed Bomberman is making his full-fledged debut on Wii and returning to Nintendo DS and PSP, Hudson Entertainment announced today. Published by Hudson and distributed by Konami, all three arrive in January 2008.

Along with the explosively fueled multiplayer carnage gamers have come to adore and admonish, all three versions feature a number of mini-games that can be played alone or with friends. Specifically, Bomberman Land on Wii and PSP includes 50 separate mini-games, while the DS iteration, Bomberman Land Touch! 2, features 40.

The DS and PSP versions also support game sharing, enabling players without the game to partake in the multiplayer goodness.

Furthermore, the Wii and PSP editions feature what Hudson describes as a "robust single-player Story Mode, where players can explore a fantasy land and solve quests and puzzles with the ultimate goal of restoring peace and tranquility to the beleaguered Bomberman world."

"Gamers are going to be blown away by the sheer amount of content they get in the Bomberman Land series," jested Hudson president and CEO John Greiner. "Each version of the perspective Bomberman Land title is different, with unique mini-games, Story Mode, and features. With the success of Bomberman Live on XBLA, we knew we had to up the bar for the brand, and we believe this series truly is triple the fun."

Yes. If anything, the additional features to 3d actually hampers the game. I prefer the old school fast paced action.

I think you've been hit on the head. Bomberman on the NES sucked. Balls. And it certainly wasn't the original.

Personally I adore the series that was released on the SNES.. but yeah.
Concerning this game, I thought it was announced way back? Either way it would be nice if they could revamp a classic with online multiplayer and releasing it on VC or something. That would rock off a couple of socks.
