Evening Reading

I will finish Metroid this week. I will do it. I will do it.

Lastly, rumor has it the iPod has been revamped! New iPod touch homescreen looks fruity.

Good stuff. White was a poor color, IMO.

I think it's a good move. Time to retire the standard issue white.

Apple needs to go back to making colorful stuff. The original iMacs were pretty awesome-looking.

i like the new look now. i find the color choices for the nano interesting -- i guess mostly girls buy the colors, because they really softened them... and i have to say, right now, the ipod touch isn't doing it for me. if i got anything, i'd still go with the phone.

they got rid of awesome lime green and orange, too. i liked their electric colors. i LOVE LOVE LOVE the red, and i think the silver (in line with the macbook pros) is nice, but i'm sad that they went all pastel.

also, can someone explain to me wifi in the ipod touch? i'm still confused. like, if i'm standing in the middle of town and i want to google where the local restaurant is, can i just pull up wifi? do i have to pay for that? how does it work?

it's just like using an open wifi access point with your laptop. if there aren't any, you get no internet.

yeah, see... i don't know. the beauty of the iphone is it's really everything, very elegantly. i'm waiting for gen 2 or 3, and i'm hopping on it. right now i've got a nano for running and a video ipod for the car/having all my music.

although, i really want a fucking red nano. SO HOT. man, i want it. so if anyone wants a last gen 4 gig green nano, talk to me!

the iPhone is useless to me because
                1) Wrong network
                2) No 3G to tempt me away
                3) No Exchange push

So the touch is where it is at for me.

Flash based so I can arm band it and run with it. "big" screen so it is easy to watch while I am on the cardio machines. Small enough that it won't get in my way when I'm doing weights. The wifi stuff is a nice bonus for when I do have an AP and want to look something up online. To me the wifi is a cute little extra when what I really wanted was a "full screen" video ipod.

Only thing I'd like more would be more storage.

Personally, the nano keeps getting more attractive for me. The battery life is the biggest thing -I don't care how much music the thing stores, it doesn't matter if I can't listen to it all. I use my ipod for things like car trips and plane rides -things that often last longer than the measly 4-6 hours my 4g clickwheel provides. And that's just 40 gigs of music.

I'm not too thrilled about the increased size just for the sake of video, but whatever. If they drop the price on the old nano's maybe I'll be able to pick up one of the 8 gig dealies on the cheap.

The white iPods never looked very good anyway. Also, changing the default color makes all the people who think the iPod is a trendy fashion statement buy new ones, thus lining Apple's pockets.
