In new IGN videos highlighting competitive drumming in Harmonix Music Systems' upcoming rhythm game Rock Band (PS3, X360), new playable tracks are revealed: "Wave of Mutilation," from the excellent Pixies album Doolittle, and Hole's "Celebrity Skin," from the album of the same name.

It is not clear whether the tracks will be included on the retail game disc or planned to be made available for purchase and download post-release.

When contacted by Shacknews, industry analysts estimated that the inclusion of a track from Doolittle boosts the awesomeness of Harmonix's anticipated title by several hundred percent. Please, gentle readers, pray for the availability of the full album.

Update: In a corresponding preview piece, it was revealed that the Yeah Yeah Yeahs track "Maps" and the Garbage track "I Think I'm Paranoid" will also be included in the game. All four tracks will ship with the game.

Also, wow, a competitive drumming mode? Awesome. No idea they were putting that in.

Neither did I, they seem to be really proud of their drums though so I'm not too surprised.

I bet there's a pro face off mode for each instrument. Why not?

Well, I assumed there wasn't because I ... well, I just assumed it didn't support multiple drum sets. I'm guessing it's purely for this face-off mode, but.... hot diggity, I'm more excited than ever! :P
