Illusion Rats Out Mafia Sequel

12
Sating the desires of vicarious mobster action fans, 2K Games announced today it will publish Illusion Softworks' Mafia 2. The sequel to 2002's Mafia: The Lost City of Heaven, the game will retail for PC and current gen consoles at an unannounced date.

"The 'wow' factor of Mafia 2 is definitely the benchmark-setting visual quality and action that you expect to see only in Hollywood movies," said 2K president Christoph Hartmann.

The title will place wannabe Cosa Nostra members in the same mid-20th century setting as the first game and feature driving, gunplay, and other gameplay mechanics. 2K released several screenshots along with the announcement.

2002? Christ it does not seem that long ago. I need to play it again too, but I'll have to rebuy as I have lost my copy of the game a long time ago. Such a great game and ending :(.

i'd only replay if there was a way to skip the incredibly long driving sequences to get from one point to another. I also remember the lack of a quicksave... hence the hate of the long driving sequences. Hopefully they have been fixed in the new version.

Yes, time for another replay. Fantastic game, day 1 purchase on sequel, unless something weird happens.
