News Bytes: Beautiful Katamari Demo

It looks like BioShock madness is upon us. I've already played the game, but I'm thinking about downloading the demo myself to mess around a bit. Then again, I probably don't have time. Looks like this Katamari business may be overshadowed by all the awesome.

Today's bytes bring you a Beautiful Katamari demo, Cooking Mama 2 details, Mad Catz stuff, and a DS game based on those little gang-member figurines.

  • Beautiful Katamari demo snowballs onto Xbox Live

    A 432MB demo for Namco Bandai's Beautiful Katamari, the latest in the push-puzzler series, arrived as a free download on Xbox Live today. The game features the Prince once again as he amasses cosmic quantities of items, this time with "720p next-gen graphics," according to a news release.

  • Majesco serving Cooking Mama 2 on DS, Wii

    Majesco confirmed it would be publishing Office Create's Cooking Mama 2: Dinner with Friends on Nintendo DS and Wii. The announcement described the DS version as "almost ready" with the Wii version still "in the oven." The sequel to Cooking Mama on DS features 150 minigames and 80 recipes, and has makeshift chefs preparing these fake foods for unfortunate freeloaders.

  • Mad Catz cuts first quarter losses

    Gaming accessory manufacturer Mad Catz announced its first quarter fiscal year 2008 results today, detailing a $200,000 net loss for the quarter--down from a $900,000 loss during the first quarter of fiscal year 2007. The company plans to release custom accessories to go along with Bungie's Halo 3, Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed, and BioWare's Mass Effect.

  • Homies drive onto DS in November

    Destineer will be bringing Homie Rollerz, a kart racing game based on the ethnically diverse gangster figurines, to the Nintendo DS this November. "Why is Alien Ese stuck on Earth and how can he get back home?" Destineer asks in the announcement. Burning questions like these will be answered as part of the game's character-rich storyline.

    So, this story breaks the site layout. :( I think it's the Katamari picture up top

    But Katamari demo?! HOT.
