Boxed Up Briefs: Smash Bros. Brawl Controls

17
For all the talk, I don't see E3 being any less announcement-packed this year than it ever has been. For those of us attending, however, it is definitely shaping up to a much different experience than usual--contrary to early expectations, it is looking like it may very well be considerably more frantic. Expect plenty of coverage from us, starting with live reporting from each of the twelve (!) publisher press conferences.

Today's briefs include Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii) control schemes as well as shots of a startlingly huge Bowser, an E3 lineup from Namco Bandai, release dates from CDV, and mocap tech for Unreal Engine 3.

    [wii]

With anticipated Wii fighter Super Smash Bros. Brawl announced as supporting control schemes with the Wii remote, nunchuk configuration, classic controller, and GameCube controller, Nintendo today released diagrams illustrating the standard attacks for all four.

Also released were images of Bowser's insanely massive final smash, and of Mario's limb-expanding attacks.

  • Namco Bandai reveals E3 lineup

Namco Bandai has released its official lineup for next week's E3 event, with 17 games spanning all major current home and portable consoles. It includes Tri-crescendo's Eternal Sonata (X360), Nex's Time Crisis 4 (PS3), Namco's Soulcalibur Legends (Wii) and Ace Combat 6 (X360), and more. Check out the full list.

Publisher CDV today confirmed release dates for a number of its upcoming PC titles, including Legendo's Attack on Pearl Harbor, Quasar's Tarr Chronicles, and Slitherine's The History Channel Great Battles of Rome. Check out the full list.

  • Motion capture becomes Unreal (Engine 3)

    [pc] [ps3] [xbox360]

Motion capture technology developer PhaseSpace has joined Epic's Integrated Parters Program for Unreal Engine 3, merging its PhaseSpace mocap software with the popular UE3 and allowing developers to direct mocapped characters in the engine in real time.
