Fans of Mistwalker's much-anticipated Xbox 360 RPG, Blue Dragon, may get to download a demo of the title July 20, more than a month before the game's release.

According to TotalVideoGames.com, the latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu contains news of an "international demo" arriving later this month. The demo has been rumored to include up to 2 hours of play time, and would most likely contain English voiceovers. Earlier this year, Microsoft revealed that the North American release of Blue Dragon would feature both English and Japanese voice tracks.

Last week, the company announced that Blue Dragon will be included in its Bringing It Home initiative for delivering content, such as trailers and demos, to Xbox Live users during E3. At the time, Microsoft did not specify if Blue Dragon would receive a playable demo.

When contacted for confirmation today, a Microsoft representative told Shacknews that the company "does not comment on rumors or speculation."

Blue Dragon is scheduled to hit retail August 28 in North America, with the European version arriving earlier that week on August 24.

The Eurogamer preview made this sound really, really bad.

      The demo or the game?

      I've heard similar musings though.

What are the features? Is it basically an old school, Japanese style RGP?

yeah, it sounded like it was old school, essentially like a kids cartoon style of game, but not a particularly good kids cartoon. Like the early JRPGs I guess, but I don't think this level of simplicity is as acceptable in a modern game, but then that's just my personal opinion, this is really a game made for the Japanese market not for western RPG fans. I'm sure this game will have it's niche and some of you will love it.

Why is it a kids game? Because of Akira Toriyama? It's just the design.

The plot and design not art.

It's a mix between Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 5 (with the job system). It's a Jap RPG that's very "summon" based, your characters don't fight their shadows do.
