Today's briefs include music for Turning Point (PS3, X360, PC), voices for Stranglehold (PS3, X360, PC), a custom Wii fighting stick, and a Warhawk beta extension.

  • Giacchino scores Turning Point score

    Experienced film and video game composer Michael Giacchino (Call of Duty, The Incredibles, Mission: Impossible III) has been tapped to score Spark Unlimited's upcoming alternate history World War II shooter, Turning Point: Fall of Liberty (PS3, X360, PC). Giacchino provided the score for another Spark-developed title, 2004's Call of Duty: Finest Hour, which was at the center of a prolonged legal dispute.

    Giacchino's score will be performed by by the Hollywood Studio Orchestra. Codemasters plans to ship the game in Q4 of this year.

  • Midway gets a grip on Stranglehold voice cast

    Midway has confirmed a hefty list of actors slated to lend their vocal cords to the company's upcoming John Woo-supervised shooter Stranglehold (PS3, X360, PC). Among the names include Arnold Vosloo (The Mummy, Blood Diamond, Agent Cody Banks), Randall Duk Kim (The Replacement Killers, The Matrix Reloaded, MTV: Reloaded), Grant George (Soul Calibur III, Hitman: Blood Money), David Lodge (Halo 2, Digimon: Battle of Adventurers), and more. Chow Yun-Fat reprises his leading role from Woo's classic film Hard Boiled.

    Stranglehold is set to ship this August.

  • Eight-button fighting stick coming to Wii

    Peripheral manufacturer Hori plans to release a fighter-oriented Wii controller consisting of a joystick, eight face buttons, and the system's standard array of minus, Home, and plus buttons. The product is listed on import site Play-Asia.com as releasing in Japan this August for an import price of $52.90. IGN claims to have confirmation of a US release, which will likely come along with a lighter price tag.

  • Warhawk beta stays airborne a little longer

    Those included in the closed beta test of Incognito's PlayStation 3 multiplayer flight combat game Warhawk will have an additional week of playtime before the program ends, publisher Sony Computer Entertainment America announced today. The Warhawk beta is now set to conclude on Monday, July 2.

          Well it's pretty clear it is. If something actually happened, Steve would most definitely make some kind of post regarding it.

          I don't get the funny in this though. I mean.. it's not so much that it matters or is a big deal... but why is this funny?
