Bethesda Game Studios' upcoming RPG sequel Fallout 3 is in development for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as well as the expected PC, reveals a cover story from print publication Game Informer. Though the magazine's July issue, which contains a preview of the game, has not yet hit newsstands, Game Informer Online has posted a scan of the cover in question. Earlier today, Bethesda released a Fallout 3 teaser trailer revealing that the game is set to ship in fall 2008.

Fallout 3's target platforms come as little surprise, as Bethesda's last full game, the well-received The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, has also been released on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. In a Shacknews interview conducted earlier this year, Bethesda's Pete Hines spoke on the company's attitude towards multiplatform support. "Our philosophy has always been that we don't believe in trying to design the game for a platform. Our philosophy is to [decide] what game we want to make, then determine which platforms can run that game," he explained. Hines went on to speak about various aspects of Fallout 3's development.
