Evening Reading

So I got AT&T U-Verse service today and it's quire impressive in many ways but poopy in others. The short review... TV image quality is pretty good, but obvious pixel issues in many instances. Maybe 85-90% as good as your average Dish/DirecTV signal. On the other hand the HD DVR is really quite good, much better than the stuff I've seen from DirecTV or TimeWarner etc. The first DVR I've seen on par with TiVo. Very similar interface. Being able to program your DVR from a website is handy. As far as internet connection your first hop is about 10ms higher than a regular DSL and the ping fluctuations are only 1-2ms as compared to about 10-15ms I see on regular DSL. Speeds are as advertised. Oh the 2Wire router is a turd... but if you have AT&T/SBC you already know that. Have a look at this stuff:

Lastly, someone wants to stalk Linkin Park? Really?
