Gamecock to Publish New Croteam Title (Updated)
"The Gamecock team includes some of the best people we've worked with in our 14 years of game development," said Croteam CDO Roman Ribaric. "We had a great time and learned a lot when we worked together to produce the first Serious Sam and we are confident that we will achieve similar success this time around."
Gamecock sent over a few screenshots of the game, due out in 2009.
Original story: Recently formed indie-oriented publisher Gamecock plans to announce tomorrow that it will be releasing a new game from Serious Sam series developer Croteam. The existence of a new Croteam game was mentioned in Croatian publication GamePlay, which indicated that an official publisher announcement may be forthcoming.
Unrelated to Serious Sam 3, which is also known to be in development, the as-yet-untitled game is powered by the Serious Engine 3 and is said to be a "military tactical-action shooter" with "fast-paced modern combat action and think-before-you-shoot gameplay," according to GamePlay.
This will not mark the first time Croteam has worked with the key executives behind Gamecock. The developer's breakout hit, Serious Sam, was published in 2001 by Gathering of Developers, whose founders went on to create Gamecock after Gathering was acquired by Take-Two Interactive.
Gamecock plans to ship the new Croteam project in 2009 for PC and unspecified consoles.
