Purge Released For Free

Freeform Interactive sends along word that their online FPS/RPG hybrid Purge, originally released in 2002, is now available as a free download. You can find a copy on FileShack.

    yikes...I remember this game from quite some time ago...played the trial version for a bit, but ended up quitting because I didn't feel it was worth the money for the full version, and at the time I was into the "free game" type view...aka free mmorpg's like planeshift for example...I'm talking about legitimately free games, not pirated games for those who may misread this.

    Anyways, I completely support genre hybrids...a very nice, refreshing change in gameplay...I currently have Savage 2: A Tortured Soul preordered(since March 2006), and still feel that the wait will be worth it...from the sound of it, the beta will start within a few weeks or less, but if it doesn't, then I'll still wait patiently...it's a FPS/RTS/RPG hybrid btw...how about calling it FRR for short...First Realtime roleplaying game? :P scratch that.

    Keep in mind though...you'll never know if you like a game unless you give it an honest, non-BS try...don't convince yourself one way or the other until AFTER the trial :)
