Lastly, been pondering the next home machine upgrade as I'm a couple generations behind and I figure Crysis will demand something sassy. TR has a pretty good run down of the latest in CPU land.

what I really dig, though, is how you get temporary powers now. that jetpack is fucking awesome (why did I listen to the people who said super jump is the way to go? I wanna flyyyyyyyy) and now I got a loa bone that will let me summon zombies. nice.
and somehow I got like 10k infamy in the last two or three hours. what the hell happened?-

not at all, I'm just making shit up as I go. of course it helps that I found a class that is 100% up my alley (aside from healing myself I can do everything I would like to be able to do, really) and have years of WoW experience (however you dress it up it's still the same old crack... crowd control, avoiding damage, mana management...), but as for game specific stuff I'm damn near lost. still feels very alien to me, but little by little I'm learning.
btw, experienced people... at level 8 I bought full level 10 enhancement sets for all my abilities plus one level 5 enhancement each to combine with (ouch, like 6k of infamy lost, but thankfully almost all of my level 5 trainings combined successfully) which has helped me a great deal, and just now am I beginning to get the occasional level 10 drop... was that a decent idea or am I stupid for having done that? (back up to 21k infamy now)
any experienced dominators? so far I have levitate, dominate, mass hypnosis, confuse, power bolt, power push and combat jumping... at 14 I'll obviously take super jump, but at 12... any recommendations? I was thinking power blast, but how is telekinesis? any good? I don't 100% get the description...

Found it! City of Villains trial installer @ ftp://ftp.cityofvillains.com/client/US/CityOfVillains_Updater.zip . Just be aware that it's a 2.2 GB download, and at 150K/s that's 4.5 hours.

Bloodlines is a real-time game with the choice between first- and third-person perspectives. The player character's ability to overcome obstacles is in many cases a mixture of player and character abilities, with character stats determining the effectiveness of actions, and player abilities determining whether or not the actions succeed. For example, the ability to move silently and avoid being detected is heavily influenced by the character’s Dexterity and Stealth ratings; however, if the player does not stay in the shadows while sneaking past enemies, the character can still be detected.
The player character increases in power dramatically during the course of the game through the expenditure of earned experience points on attributes, skills, and vampire abilities called "disciplines". A multitude of items, weapons, and books can be found or purchased that also make the player character more powerful.
Unlike most RPGs, the experience needed to increase stats and skills is not awarded for killing enemies. Experience points are awarded solely for completing quests, no matter how many creatures the player eliminates in the process (though the quest objective often involves killing). This encourages the player to complete quests in creative ways and significantly increases the game’s replay value.
