Evening Reading

Dont leave a turkey sandwich out for more than like 30 seconds when there is a cat in the area. Just a tip.

- Deciding on IPTV
- Perhaps we can get a mobile TV standard?
- Going negative on YouTube
- Sacred sound quality
- AppleTV hot?
- Green energy?

Lastly, the Google phone is going to take over the world

I am in neither but it would be cool if you posted whatever your query is instead of Shackmessaging it so I can get a feel for some of the stuff that the ad/mark people do, as it may be a future career path for me.

can we have a subthread about a good way to get into marketing? My girlfriend is trying hard but apparently there isn't that big of a market here. Are we just screwed at this location (4th largest city in tn)?

There are lots of companies that need help with marketing in Chatanooga.

If she is looking for a marketing firm, I am sure they are there. A better path might be to work with small businesses and such.

i think you "get" into marketing by starting at the bottom of the totem pole as a marketing intern or coordinator, depending on her experience. then you work up. with more experience and proven programs run, more opportunities will open.

an MBA will help making connections and get you into upper management.

she has the regular degree and an internship with a mall marketing firm but thats it. Its just that we can't really find any job for entry level marketing in this area at the regular job site.

i think you just need to keep pushing. try and get some parttime internships to bulk your resume.

my father was in marketing so i started making my resume in high school, so by the time i was 20 i was set with beginning experience.

Update: A few of you might remember that business I told you I was developing from a few weeks back.

I can reveal that it deals heavily with marketing.

I'm looking to talk to people who have backgrounds in marketing for suggestions and input, in addition to people who work for marketing departments or advertising agencies for major companies and are looking for an original and unique new channel to get your message out there.
