World of Warcraft 2.0.7 Patch Released

87

The latest World of Warcraft patch is now up at FileShack, updating version 2.0.6 of the game to version 2.0.7. Here are the raid and dungeon fixes found in the update

* Players are no longer able to accept the quest "The Opening of the Dark Portal" while the Black Morass encounter is engaged. * In the Black Morass, Chrono Lord Deja will now properly spawn during a Heroic Mode attempt. * After completing the Black Morass encounter, all the additional mobs in the zone will no longer all aggro. * Durnholde Lookouts will now properly despawn after all 5 of the Baracks in Caverns of Time: Escape from Durnholde are burned down. * The items required to complete the Karazhan key quest can now only be looted by the first group in the instance to reach them. * A teleporter has been added to Barnes (in the front entrance of Karazhan) that activates after the Shade of Aran is killed. This will port players back up to the Shade of Aran's room to allow more attempts on Prince Malchazzar. * The aggro range for players when under the effect of "Incite Chaos" while fighting Blackheart the Inciter in the Shadow Labrynth has been adjusted. * Many creatures within Coilfang Resevoir have been slightly retuned. * Many creatures within the Mana Tombs have been slightly retuned.

Rumour has it that the Netherdrake flyable mount is now in, but it's not mentioned in the notes.

You need, from what I hear, to be Neutral with Netherwing in Shadowmoon Valley before you can proceed and that is a chain that starts around Sanctum of the Stars in the south.

By the time you hit 70 you should have at least half the required gold to get the epic mount. Then you simply do the ton of quests left and you'll get it.

I walked into the expansion with 775g. When I hit 70 I had 5500g. I simply did every quest and I sold everything. All grays, greens and quest rewards to vendors. I also sold all my Netherweave, Runecloth as well. Blues, gems or patterns went to the auction house.

I suppose I should add that after hitting 70, I've prolly raised another 2500g, but I don't need it so I gave it all to my gf so she can get her epic mount ;P

Also a note about Netherdrake mounts, you will need the 5000g flying skill to use it.

I started with 50g, did the same thing, and ended up with 1700 gold. So uh, yeah.

hahaha riiight. no. I'm 70 and had 1450g the moment I ding'd. then I got the nonepic mount. that didn't exactly leave me with half the req gold, no sir...
started at 60 with 300g (scratched together from three of my 60s) and never bought anything in the AH, sold anything I thought might turn a profit.

If you only have that low amount of gold then you simply weren't selling items along the way. The number of people I saw not checking loot or leaving greys that sell for 2.5+g a piece was astounding.

did you not read what I said? I'm a total loothog. I even pick up all the gray shit people leave in trash mobs "because their bags would get full". I sell everything. I'm an enchanter and still sold the non-soulbound items. even three blues (not very good ones though). I got auctioneer and scanned once or twice every day just so I'd make some halfway decent coin. but I never did, I told you how much it made me... not much at all.

I had 300g the night before BC, around 64 or 65 I had enough to finally buy my epic ground mount, by the time I hit 70 I had enough for my flying mount and training. After being 70 for like a week or two, I'm back up to 1700g. And I haven't been to the Auction House once.

I don't spend my money on anything but repairs, reagents, and new spells. I loot all vendor trash, I vendor greens, and I do every quest I can.

same as me. the moment I entered hellfire I spent 30g on new tailor and enchant recipes and that was the last time I wasted $$$ on anything but spells or repairs. I need no reagents other than what I suck out of my enemies' souls.
I even sold all the food and water I found. if I need to regenerate I pop my two trinkets and blood fury and get to sucking the sweet, sweet life out of my victim. one mob gets me to nearly full from nearly dead no problem... so no need to eat.
I have never ever let one single grey item rot, I always saw a vendor before I had to throw something away.
hellfire, zangarmarsh, terokkar and nagrand have 0 quests left for me (sub70 at least).

Hm...I'm a mage, that might account for some, but certainly not that big of a difference.

I'll see if I can think of anything else that might be different.

                    Here's how. Honestly.

First off. I'm a Hunter, which is kind of like cheating anyway, but the truth is I cleared my bags. All of em. Three 18 slots (one 18 slot Quiver and my original 16 which is full of mounts, potions, foods, etc).

I then emptied 5 16 slots in my bank. I kept all my resist gear and old sets, but I basically sold everything out of my bank to clean up room. When the expansion came out, most of my bank and bags were empty.
I also made an alt that I would use to hoard things like cloth.

During leveling, I sold all the greys and greens I got from quests, if I could use a blue (not likely) I did, but for the most part EVERYTHING was sold. I would get shit tonnes of Runecloth and Netherweave which got sent to my alt to keep space for things like Motes or Faction items which were stored in my bank to keep my player bags free for greens and greys. I just took every single quest and did them all.

I also didn't do any Leatherworking while I was leveling because all the leather and shit would take space in my bags or bank which would leave me less room for money items. ;)

I forgot to add two things:

                      1) I sold all my Runecloth and Netherweave after I hit 375.
                      2) I always picked the Plate item in a quest reward because they generally sell for more money. ;)

Honestly you must have done something wrong, every single person I know that actually did some quests and sold loot made close to 1k gold by the time they were 65. Let alone 2k by 70.

Bingo. A stack of fragments from elementals sell for like 2g. You kill enough of them and you get 10g. You take all the motes and turn them into primals and they sell for stupid amounts and this is during questing which results in more money.

I'm with you on this. I don't understand how these people rake in thousands of gold by apparently doing the same thing I'm doing. I make about 1500 gold from 60-70. I just hit 70 last night and after I bought my flying mount I'm at about 1300 gold which is what I had before the expansion came out.

that is the one thing I've made a mistake on, I reckon I have about 200g in damages resulting from me forgetting that I'm a tailor and making and selling a few bandage stacks. still, that's like ten quests... we're talking 20 times that much here.

I'm fairly sure that you can only obtain it from being the arena champion or from a really rare drop from one of the 25 man raids, most likely Tempest Keep.

normal netherdrake will be available from a non-raid questchain. armored netherdrake with 310% speed is for the 0.5% best arena teams each season. one more 310% mount, not a netherdrake, hasn't been revealed.

No matter. The Epic flying mounts now are 280%, but you put a Riding Crop Trinket on and you're at 290%...

              February 13, 2007 12:44 PM

Actually thats not how the math works its a 280% speed increase meaning your actual speed is 380%. The riding crop works off of that speed multiplicatively making it you go a total of 418% speed (that is not a 418% increase but 418% total).

It's not high you are misinterpreting my numbers. When you have a regular ground epic mount it is a 100% increase (note increase) in speed over what you normally run meaning you go double what you normally run. So when it says its a 280% increase its really 3.8 times your regular run speed aka then then the trinket applies to that number.

You can easily verify this with any number of mods.
