Well that confirms it. The multiplayer is going to be subscription based.

There are both ups and downs to this. The subscription fee keeps a lot of the kiddies away. And it gives a lot of incentive for the devs to continually update the game with new content.

On the downside, though, it makes the game less casual friendly-- a move away from the Guild Wars / Diablo mold. Plus, it means the game could turn into a giant hamsterwheel grind, just to keep people paying.

Please don't screw this up, Bill!

That's a risky move (and one that'll piss off many people)

I don't doubt this game will rock, but I'm done with subscription based games :(.

"The subscription fee keeps a lot of the kiddies away"

More or less: The really obnoxious kids whose parents will get them anything still get to come and annoy us.

Was looking forward to this game but, subscription fees kinda suck. I hate that I'm throwing away 15 bucks a month for WoW.

      Subscription? :( :( :(

I was really looking forward to this game, but not anymore unless it's really cheap.

Yeah, I'm also not too excited about this game anymore thanks to hearing "subscription"... :(

I hate subscription. I don't mind paying at all, but the fact that I might not play for weeks, or want to go back to it for a bit years down the line, is really hampered by this, it's an annoying extra step. It applies pressure to get your money's worth and I don't like that.
