Evening Reading

If you're planning on downloading anything I'd do it tonight because I imagine most gaming download sites are going to be pretty darn clogged up with the WoW patch hitting tomorrow. Fair warning! Now then...

- Being a cannibal used to be hot
- BitTorrent has raised $20million in cash
- Nerd sails
- Moon base is hot

Lastly, my only complaint ever about YouTube has been the video resolution kinda sucking. Looks like some folks are on that.

When Peter Absorbs powers from others he does not seem to know how to use them well. I bet he walks past the human torch (who is full of grief & rage) and maybe it just overcomes him and he can't control it. I bet later on Clair (invincible girl) is the only one who can get near him because of his intense radiation and some how saves him???

Was that a Simpsons reference when Hiro said "What if I step on a bug?" -- the ep where Homer goes back in time and kills a bug.. "stupid bug, you go squish now!" then steps on a couple more later on and sneezes on a dinosaur? :P

Damn right. It'll be interesting to find out why Peter is going to explode. My initial thought was radiation man being near him, and Peter being unable to control it, but my new theory is that Peter being near too many heroes at once might cause everything to go out of control and explode

Also, fuck, after last episode, Sylar didn't seem so intimidating, but they sure as fuck fixed that

        Regarding Peter

I'm going with the idea that Peter can: absorb someones power entirely, like Sylar, and given that he doesn't know how to control it assplodes all over NY (From radiactive boy) What I don't understand is why on earth he's having all of those dreams, and suddenly collapses given that he should have absorbed Claire's healing ability while in jail

            • reply
              December 5, 2006 12:52 AM

He doesn't permanently absorb powers, although it is interesting that her being around him didn't seem to d oanything about the illness he is suffering from.

Now that I think about, Peter has been having those prophetic dreams all along. All the way back to the first episode, he was dreaming about flying. Maybe it relates to that kid that Mahir found in India?

      • reply
        December 4, 2006 7:57 PM

Peter is absorbing radioactive guys powers
You could see he was sickly the first time you saw him in the cell.
I figured he was still in the building from the last time they talked to him. Must have been closer than mind reading guy.

Sylar could attack Eden because the Haitian wasn't near there
        He was busy at Claires

I dunno if the show seems to waiver on the characteristics of powers, but how did flying bro fly away from the Haitian and Claires father when they had him in LV?

That building was still in Midland. Radiation Man was in California. I don't think Peter has ever been anywhere near him.

I'm really confused as to why Peter is regressing. It's like he didn't hang around cheerleader long enough to completely heal. Although the hospitals should have noticed internal injuries.

I also thought maybe Being near the haitian caused problems with the healing ability and maybe reversed it.

Guess I'll wait for Jan 22nd.

      December 4, 2006 8:24 PM

My theory WAS I knew Eden would try to implement her plan and fail. I figured Sylar would take her power and convince radiation man to blow up.

Now I'm not sure Eden thought she could stop Sylar from getting her power by shooting herself...Sylar LOOKED concerned, but maybe he still got them.

It makes a lot of sense, if Sylar got persuasion ability, he could tell Peter or radiation man to blow up. Maybe they figure it out and protect radiation man from Sylars suggestion, but forget to protect Peter as well.

And Finally, In Peter's vision, he sees all the supers. INCLUDING Niki, DL, and Micah. All but those three he's actually met in real life. Perhaps he'll recognize that he didn't recognize those three and tell Hiro and Ando.....(Ando has met them....and Nathan met Niki.) So maybe that's how they get together with the rest of the Justice League.

Is having radiation man/Peter blow up really Sylar's MO? He seems to just want to get more powers and stuff, does nuking a city really help him in any way?

I bet what we saw in Peter's dream tonight is the season finale. Radiation man makes it to the city, and somehow the heroes manage to convince the city to evacuate, partially due to exploding man destroying stuff around him. Heroes confront exploding man and fight him...during the fight Peter gets involved and ends up making some sort of sacrifice to absorb exploding man's powers.

The other heroes realize Peter can't control this and start running away from him, with Claire mouthing "I'm sorry" and running away as well. Nathan walks up to Peter as he's about to explode and probably flies him into the atmosphere to do less damage. I think Nathan and Peter will die at the end of the season to make the show ridiculously dramatic.

        There you have it.

Thank you, thank you...though I can't explain how they meet up in the city, or why the Haitian can't just nullify radiation man (he seems to be a good guy as shown in this episode), but that's why we have another half of the season to go before the showdown.

I also think that Sylar will remain a smaller subplot and provide an enemy focus next year. This year will be all about everyone getting up to speed with their powers and facing their first huge challenge in radiation man. Fighting Sylar could be even more epic if everyone has time to mature more.

but I don't see why Sylar would want this nuclear explosion. After all, he doesn't randomly kill people. He kills other mutants to get their power. If they explode, he's not going to get them.

I guess my question now is how did Peter get a vision of the future? Did he steal that from someone, Claire's Dad maybe? Who else was there that he could have stolen that from? He was getting sick the entire episode, even when Claire was in the room and when she kicked him out he became kind of a dick by being impatient so much. Something happened that he knew about and he didn't want her to effect him? :/ Hmmm

      my thoughts...

      1. I think Nathan is ultimately going to turn into a bad guy. If you look closely as his face in the ending scene, he looks like he wants to kill Peter.. I think there is something there..

      2. Hiro and the T-Rex.. Not quite sure what's going on here, I have two thoughts.. Either Hiro wants to go back in time to do something and he accidentally jumps too far in the past, obviously and finds himself against a T-Rex, and that painting was of him holding up the sword in defense as he tries to time warp back, or (this is WAY out there...) Hiro somehow time warps with the exploding man/rogue Peter or something to the past, way too far, and lets him explode back in time.. And this is what kills off the dinosaurs.. i know, LOL at me now..

      3. seriously I'm getting tired of the Nikki character.. way too much time i think has been focused on her and her dead sister's personality.. i can't wait for her to kick the bucket, although i know she wont, she's too big of a name for the show....
