Every time I see screenies of BF2142 my expectation that it's just BF2 with new models, textures and shaders somehow gets fortified.
I really hope I'm wrong.

Are there any sreenshots with the interface? I don't think I've ever seen it...

  The gameplay is much improved and the weapons are fantastic. It's hardly BF2 with new models.

      2142 is definitely a better game than BF2 (strictly my opinion folks, don't hurt me) but people are so shell-shocked by the EA/DICE *experience* (its like the Jimmy Hendrix ExperienceÃ¢Â„Â¢.... but less fun) that bitching comes all too easily.
      
      I'm not crazy about having to unlock things like stadard grenades, medkits etc but the higher tier stuff along with the weapons and vehicles you can tell they really did try to improve many of the less savory aspects of BF2.

  I really love how they did the explosions, bullet trails, and effects (EMP blast, cannons). They have more of a visual OOMPH to them than BF2.
