do I need to download something special to play? when I click "join server" it doesn't do anything

If you have CS:S installed, you don't need anything else installed. Are you joining the server from inside the game or from steam. FYI It's much easier to add and keep favorites from inside the game if you're adding themelons to your list.

i'm doing it from in-game. I find themelons server in the browser and click "join server" and it just sits there. I tried adding it to favorites by IP but it never appeared

fix it. Also, right at that there should be a prompt for the password. :/
