I've played pretty much every major MMO on the market these days and EQ2 is the one that I have played the longest and enjoyed the most. The game gets a ton of hate directed at it in wider gamer circles but it seems like most of that is either knee jerk reaction or is influenced by penny-arcades constant ranting against the game.
EQ2 has some of the finest group oriented content and game features in any MMO. It has a huge and involved story. The world is immense and varied. There is an absolutely ridiculous amount of content both in terms of soloable quests, small group quests and dungeons and large group dungeons and raids. It is the only MMO I've played that I've enjoyed more and more as I've played it.
If you are hating on it becasue you;ve played it and didn't like it thats fine but if you've never played it, give it a shot. There's a free demo that you can play for 30 days.
Fallen Dynasty adds a bunch of content to the game for 8 bucks! Not much to complain about there.-
Ahahhaa..you and Sony give Penny Arcade too much credit. I could care less what PA says about the game. Screenshots and videos speak more than they could ever say, and the shots say that the game is an artless stinker.

I'm actually enjoying the PvP server quite a bit, and it's probably one of the best looking games to just explore and look around in. Yes WoW is like that too, but completely different art styles. Oh and go to http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/darkageofcamelot/index.html?q=Dark%20Age%20of%20Camelot and scroll to the bottom and look at the DAOC video from 2001. Not even close. Problem is both are being displayed in a highly compressed video format. Actually in game it looks good. Then again DAOC also looks much better in game now after updates as well.
