Prey Diary

6

The latest Prey dev diary is up at the 3D Realms website. This installment deals more with Human Head moving offices, though there's mention of the demo as well.

Is there going to be a multi-prey only demo? I'm not sure if I recall seeing anything on this anywhere. The trailers and game play videos have spoiled enough of the game for me, so I just want to see how well it works on my Machine before I get it.

I believe the demo will have multiplayer as well so you can just ignore the singleplayer portion if you want.

The demo will be released on June 22 and will have MP and SP.

I'm not really sure if that's what you mean, but I don't see the need for a MP *only* demo if there's one with both SP and MP.

lighter download for the broadband impared ones? Not that these people would have an easy time playing online on dial-up though...

I know I sound like an elitest prick but anyone who can afford a rig that can run Prey should be able to afford at least a basic Broadband connection. especially since many companies now have plans nearly as cheap as the average dial-up.

The case is that on many places, no matter how rich you are or how much money you want to spent, you might not be able to get a decent connection. USA isn't the world.

However, I still think it doesn't make sense to have a 'smaller' download for MP. If you're looking to play MP, you are likely to have a decent connection like pillzer said.

If you go back re-read (or read) my original post you will find I don't mention my connection speed at all. Though I [*may]* seem to imply that that's what I poseted about, it is not. I mean, why would anyone want a multipyplayer only game/demo if their connection runs like poos? ( I though I did say: "I just want to see how well it works on my Machine before I get it", so yeah, should have been some thing like: "I just want to see how well it works on my Machine -, while I'm kicking ass, online, (or some thing)- before I get it")

So yeah, no complaints here :)

      That is all.
